October 2018

Today we went on an African adventure. We travelled from Handa’s house all the way to Akeyo’s. Along the way we found many different animals who all took a piece of fruit from our basket. We loved our adventure and can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings.

Today we listened to African music, we loved the song ‘Jambo Kenya.’ We used materials to dance to the music and even explored the sound of different instruments as we tried to keep to the beat of the song. Some of us then made our own instruments in the outdoor area and put on a show for our friends…although we did end up singing ‘Baby Shark.’ 🙂

October 2018

We have been very creative, making our very own African necklaces. We have explored animal prints, looking at the different colours and patterns.

October 2018

To introduce our ‘Talk 4 Writing’ we looked at the fruit from the story. We touched, smelt and tasted the fruit. We tried really hard to think of different words to describe the fruit. We thought the pineapple was spiky and the mango was very sweet. Not many of us were keen on the smell or taste of the guava.

For the next few weeks we will be celebrating Black History week. We have chosen the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’ to base our learning on.

September 2018

We have been using our favourite song ‘Baby Shark’ to explore how families are made up of many different people.

Nursery is an extremely important part of your child’s journey into education. Through purposeful play and objective led planning your child will learn key skills that will enable them to become independent learners. This is our class page and it will be filled with lots of photographs and videos showing the journey we are making together as we learn and develop. We hope you enjoy looking at our photographs and finding out about our learning.

Forest School  – Wednesday am and Wednesday pm

This year we have been given the amazing opportunity to take part in forest school. Our forest sessions are every Wednesday and the children are encouraged to wear tracksuits and wellingtons!

Stay and Play & Stay and Read – Tuesday am and Tuesday pm
