Hello, my name is Miss Garrity and I am the class teacher of 4G. This year we have the fantastic support of Ms Daved. Alongside the children, we work as a team to bring out the best in each other so that every child feels safe, valued and happy in order to thrive and reach their potential.

4G are a wonderful bunch of bright and hard-working children. We are very busy enjoying our learning and are always very excited and proud to share our work with you on our website. Also, we have a class twitter page where we regularly show off our brilliant work. You can follow us @KingsleyLpool4G or @Year4Kingsley

General Information

Book bags

Please read with your child every night. It is a lovely way to end the day before going to sleep. We would also ask you to write a short comment on how your child read the text. Children can bring their book bag in any day for their book to be changed. Books will be changed at least once a week.

We would encourage children to read for pleasure at home and gain a real love for reading. This helps with writing, spelling, vocabulary and grammar.

We have P.E. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Children must have a P.E. kit in school. We have storage for the children to keep their P.E. kit in school, each half term P.E. kits will be sent home for washing.

Homework will be sent out each Friday.

As well as maths homework, all the children have logins for Times Tables Rockstars to help with their times tables. The aim is to be answering questions with speed and accuracy. This is very important since children in year 4 are expected to know all times tables up to 12×12 by the end of the year. Therefore they should be practicing times tables for 10 minutes daily until they are fluent.

Here’s a handy link to test your times tables skills:

I thank you for your continued support in the education of your child. We also care very much about the happiness and wellbeing of your children and the door is always open for anyone that would like a chat about your child and how they are progressing.

Thanks for visiting us!
