Hello and welcome to 5GA’s class page!
Our teacher is Miss Garrity and learning support assistant is Mrs Daved.
This page has all the information you need to know about our class and will be updated as and when necessary.
In our class we are kind to each other, learn together and treat each other with respect and care. We understand that being emotionally intelligent is important for having good mental health. We talk about how we feel and we try to be resilient and find ways to overcome difficulties.
We always try our best, work hard and we love a challenge!
Important things to know:
School day – We start our day from 8.30am. Children may arrive any time until 9am when lessons begin promptly. We leave school through the side gate on Kingsley Road at 3.20pm.
PE – We have PE on alternate Tuesdays and children need to wear their PE kit to school. (No football kits please). Please send children wearing black shorts, tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a white t-shirt, trainers or pumps with a school jumper or cardigan on these dates: 29th September and 13th October.
Reading books – Reading at home will work slightly differently to previous years. Please only bring in book bags on a Friday – they will stay in school over the weekend to quarantine naturally. Book bags will be given out on Monday.
We will ensure that children have enough to read over the week. Our reading books are chosen for your child to read independently but we encourage you to read with your child for at least 10 mins a day if possible. A book before bed is a great chance for you to read together in a relaxing way.
Times Tables Rockstars
Your child has been given unique login details to allow access to https://ttrockstars.com/.
Please make sure your child uses Time Tables Rockstars at home throughout the week. They need lots of practice. By year 5 it is expected that all children are already fluent in ALL times tables up to 12 x 12.
Please follow our year group twitter pages as you will see regular updates throughout the year.
Keep checking to see pictures of our classroom, our fantastic work and to celebrate our achievements this year. We are very proud to share this with you!
It’s a pleasure to teach your wonderful children and I’m looking forward to a year of fun learning and growing together. You may contact me via the school office if you need to arrange to speak about anything concerning your child.
