Red room children will begin to return to Nursery the week beginning 21st September. School will contact parents to let them know their child’s exact start date and time.

Welcome to Red Room

Hello! Thank you for visiting Red Rooms Nursery page.

Our nursery teacher is Mrs. Carpen-Juckes and we are lucky to have six lovely Learning Support Assistants/Key persons; Mrs Hughes, Miss Foster, Mrs. Lenden, Miss Richards, Miss Kenny and Mrs Doherty.

In nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We are very lucky in Red room as we have a very big indoors and outdoors learning environment which we can access anytime no matter what the weather is like! We are also able to access our schools field which has a running track around it and we also get to spend time each week in our Forest school. Our learning spaces allow us to explore, discover and learn together through play which we really enjoy because it is fun!

Throughout the year we will explore a broad spectrum of topics; all about ourselves, seasons and change, people who help us, dinosaurs and animals to name a few. We will learn all about each other’s families, home life, cultures and celebrations.

We have an open door policy and Mrs Carpen-Juckes will always be on the door at the beginning and end of each session, so please do not hesitate to come and speak to us about any questions or concerns that you may have or even just for a friendly catch up!

Things you need to know

Wellington boots – It is really important that your child has a set of wellington boots in school. This is so they have suitable footwear for playing out in the sand, rain and mud!

Warm coat – During the cold months, please make sure that your child comes into school with a warm coat, preferably a waterproof one so that they can keep dry whilst playing outside in the cold and rain.

Suitable clothing – In nursery we love playing in the mud, sand and paint. The messier we are the more fun we have had!

Change of clothes – Please bring in a spare set of clothes and underwear so that we can change your children’s clothes if needed.

Hat and gloves – For the cold months and a hat for the warm months to help keep our heads cool.

Book bags and reading books – Please bring your child’s reading book and book bag in on the MONDAY session. We will change your books and record what you have read and issue your child with a new book to take home on the FRIDAY of that week.

Forest school days – On a Wednesday we have Forest School. Please make sure that your child comes into school wearing suitable clothing; Warm trousers and Sweatshirts are ideal.
