Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)

PSHE education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain. Evidence shows that well-delivered PSHE programmes have an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils. At Kingsley, PHSE is delivered through the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) Curriculum.

Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) plays a vital role across the whole curriculum and is developed through the SEAL program. Children learn to develop responsibility for their own personal hygiene, health and safety. In Year 6, we focus on lessons to develop respect for others and understanding of changes in their own bodies. Children are taught how to become good citizens, both within school (e.g. the School Council) and in the wider community.
