Year 6 hygiene initiative
As part of our commitment to the wellbeing and personal development of our pupils, we are pleased to inform you that the school will be providing each Year 6 pupil with their own alcohol-free roll-on deodorant. This will be kept in their individual trays within school. This is something that we have discussed with the children, all of which seemed keen/ pleased by this proposition.
There are several reasons for this initiative:
The deodorant provided will be alcohol-free, gentle on young skin, and carefully chosen with allergen sensitivity in mind. It has come to our attention that some children, particularly in Year 6, have started bringing fragranced products to school, especially on PE days. As some of these items are packaged in glass, or are in aerosol form, they pose a potential safety risk. We kindly request that parents ensure children do not bring these products to school to help maintain a safe environment for everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns about this initiative or if your child has specific needs or sensitivities we should be aware of, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. Your child could alternatively bring in their own roll-on deodorant from home, if they would prefer rather than the one provided free of charge from school.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that our pupils develop both academically and personally in a safe, nurturing environment.
Yours sincerely,
Ms A. Whittaker, Head Teacher.
