Governance Statement

The Governing Board together with the Headteacher, have a collective responsibility for making sure that all children in our school receive the best education possible in a safe, caring environment. The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school whilst the Governing Board’s role is strategic, which means that it ensures clarity of vision, ethos, values and strategic direction; holds the Head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and oversees the financial performance of the school and makes sure its money is well spent.

Clerking duties are undertaken by both Mr J Moore, School Business Manager or outsourced at the school's discretion only, to Governor services or our HR team, depending on the nature of the enquiry/ service. All communication, however, will be through Mr Moore at:

Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer Murshid and I have been a Parent Governor since 2018. Originally from Belfast, I moved to Liverpool to attend University where I studied Sociology and Psychology. I have lived in various areas of the city since moving here but settled in Toxteth 11 years ago. I have 4 children, all of whom currently attend Kingsley Primary School. Although I am currently a stay at home mum, I have had several years experience managing a business, knowledge which I hope to be a positive contribution to my role as Governor. I strongly believe that all children deserve the best education and start in life that they can be given. Along with all the staff at Kingsley and my fellow governors, I aim to ensure the school is offering this to the children, helping them achieve as much as possible, all the while supporting their needs and making their school experience a positive one. I am proud to be part of such a unique and diverse school, within our wonderful community.
I am currently link Governor for Safeguarding within the school and have a keen interest in writing, reading, Maths, Science and History.
