Blue Room
Welcome to Blue Room!
Blue room is our two year old provision based within Granby Children's centre, this is the starting point for your child's educational journey.
Our room is led by our teacher Becy and we have lots of amazing LSA's that help us to learn they are- Suead, Rose, Lisa, Karolina and Katie.
In Blue room we love to learn through play and experiences as this is the best way for our little minds to grow and learn how to figure things out for ourselves.
To begin with we concentrate mainly on the three prime areas-
- communication and language
- personal, social and emotional development
- physical development
Working on the above areas supports us within the other four specific areas and as we grow in confidence in nursery we begin to also work on these-
- literacy
- mathematics
- understanding the world
- expressive arts and design
We ask all parents to please provide us with nappies, wipes and a change of clothes (and underwear if your child is toilet trained) that can be kept in school. These things go into your childs purple bag which stays on their peg and has their picture on it, ensuring no-one else uses them.
Your child will also bring home a 'book' bag each Friday to be shared together at home, we encourage you to make a note in their reading log to let us know if they enjoyed the story and to make any comments about discussions you may have had following the book. Book bags must be returned by Thursday for us to be able to change your child's book so you have a new one ready to share for the weekend.
While in blue room we learn so many valuable skills that will help make our journey through school and life so much easier but we also have lots of messy fun along the way!
