Welcome
Welcome!
Thank you for choosing Kingsley Community Primary School for your child. We hope that you enjoy reading about and viewing a wide range of learning taking place in our amazing school! Our school motto, ‘Learning together, respecting each other’ sums up our approach to life here. All of us are learning and we are on a journey together, supporting each other and celebrating all we have in common as well as our differences.
We are proud to welcome children, staff and families in Kingsley, who come from many areas of the country and indeed the world, and from many different types of families. That makes our school both exciting and unique. We have over 500 children aged 2-11, and between us we speak over 30 languages so we are very talented, multilingual school! We are located in the heart of the Granby area of Toxteth and are at the hub of the local community. We have Granby Children’s Centre on site and together we seek to support and work with our families as well as with other schools and settings.
Our school is proud to be a Community School in its true sense. During their time here your child will not only have access to good teaching and learning but they will also work alongside staff and pupils who demonstrate a strong community ethos. This means that every child will be expected to show good manners, kindness and a respect for those from different faiths and family backgrounds.
We follow all aspects of the National Curriculum, which we expect all of our children to take part in. This includes swimming, Religious Education and Citizenship, Relationships Education, as well as the usual Maths an English and Foundation Subjects. Our curriculum particularly celebrates the history and geographical origins of our community, and aims to inspire our pupils to set high goals for life and be proud of who they are. Our children do well academically, but they are also kind, tolerant and respectful of others. These values are very important to us. Information about the Kingsley Curriculum can be found on the school website. It is important for all of our families to know that if their children attend our school, we expect them to take part in all of these lessons.
We strive to be the best we can be. Our children will be expected to show a good attitude towards learning, and they will be well supported in this by a talented and dedicated staff team. They will also benefit from an experiential curriculum, enriched by lots of trips, visitors and outdoor learning, as well as many after school and curriculum clubs.
Please get in touch if you want any more information about our school. We would be delighted to hear from you.
Best wishes,
Alison Whittaker, Head Teacher
